GREATER KENTUCKY LAKE GUIDE SERVICE
Pertinent Information

I encourage each client to bring his own rod & reels;  otherwise, just please let me know, and they can be provided.  I try to minimize tackle in the boat for safety reasons.
Please bring any drinks or food you would like to have.  Sometimes we can stop on the water and eat, however I find most people would prefer not to do so.  I can supply food and drinks for an additional $25 charge.
Please always bring a rain suit (tops & bottoms).  The weather changes quickly on the water and you may be uncomfortable if you get wet.

Greater Kentucky Lake Guide Service
Safety Instructions:
  • Life jackets will be worn at all times while the boat is under power. Straps are only considered life jackets when worn; therefore, if you bring your own straps, you must wear them at all times to meet Coast Guard requirements.
  • We will always be seated while under power.
  • During rough water, life jackets will be worn while fishing.
  • Today's hooks are very sharp.  Please always wear some type of glasses.  Be cautious and aware of your surroundings while fishing.
  • Bad weather:  In most cases we fish,  however there are times that we will have to wait out a storm or make other arrangements.  This is generally decided at the ramp at the meeting place and time.
  • All clients must have a valid Tennessee fishing license.
  • We practice catch and release.

Meeting Place & Time:

In most cases, we will meet at the Paris Landing State Park ramp so we can fish most of Kentucky Lake as needed.  You can purchase licenses in any of the adjacent convenience stores.  We will discuss the time to meet; generally speaking, about 6 AM-7AM.  It's your day;  I can adapt to your time and needs without a problem.

Equipment & Boat:

I fish out of a 2007 Champion 206, with a 250 Yamaha HPDI.

Waterfowl Hunting

Located on the Mississippi Flyway next to Kentucky Lake and the famous Springville Bottoms.

You'll hunt on private flooded corn, or you may choose to hunt the open waters of Kentucky Lake.  This can be decided depending on the number of waterfowl in each area.

Primarily, mallards are the most common, but several other species such as black duck, widgeon, gadwall, pintail and a variety of diving ducks are taken.

Our focus is primarily ducks, but on occasion, Canada Geese are in the area.

Our blinds are comfortable, propane-heated blinds, well constructed and safe.  Our flooded corn blinds have electricity and many comforts of home.  This will help make your hunting experience more enjoyable.  Our open water blinds are the more traditional hunts (no electricity).

Most blinds accommodate 6-8 people in addition to the guide.  For an additional fee, I can accommodate private groups who desire exclusive blinds.

Your day will begin at shooting hours and will include a fantastic breakfast and lunch.

Having worked ducks in our area all my life, we prefer to do the calling to allow the clients to do the shooting.
